Sourdough Discard Waffles


 

  • 10 ounces all-purpose flour 
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 14 ounces milk (just under 2 cups)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 Tablespoons coconut oil or melted butter 
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preheat a waffle iron. Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Cook according to waffle iron instructions.

We sometimes add cinnamon or chocolate chips or a mashed banana to the batter. 

If planning to freeze, pop them immediately on a  rack in the freezer individually and allow to freeze completely before stacking or placing in a bag.
